Fortumo’s Bundling Platform is used primarily by two types of partners:
Telcos: mobile operators, TV providers and ISP-s
Digital merchants: streaming, gaming, publishing, e-learning and productivity service providers
Telcos use Fortumo’s Bundling Platform to include 3rd party digital merchants’ services inside their own service packs and tariff plans.
Digital merchants use Fortumo’s Bundling Platform to provide access to their service through telco channels: mobile operators (prepaid and postpaid subscribers), TV providers (set-top box and satellite TV customers) and ISP-s (internet and Wi-Fi subscribers).
For digital merchants, Fortumo’s Bundling Platform also supports setting up bundle offers with other digital merchants for co-marketing purposes.
Fortumo’s Bundling Platform supports the following bundle models:
Hard bundles: telco subscribers get a benefit (such as free access or exclusive in-game content) to the digital service for as long as they are subscribed to a specific telco tariff plan
Soft bundles (add-ons): telco subscriber can purchase access to the service through their telco account with additional benefits (such as extended free trials or a discount)
Reselling: subscribers of the telco can purchase access to the service through the telco channel at the standard retail price
Fortumo’s Bundling Platform supports various benefits, including free trials, discounted pricing, zero-rating or discounted data for the service, and sachet packages.
Telcos can offer multiple digital services to subscribers as part of one tariff plan on Fortumo’s Bundling Platform: either as a swappable benefit, or by providing access to multiple services at once.

If the telco has the technical capability in place to manage users, billing (charging) and termination, then the user lifecycle is managed by the telco (on-net model). In order to use the on-net model, the telco must be able to manage the digital merchant’s subscription cycles and pricing.
In case the telco lacks the capability to manage users on their side, Fortumo’s Subscription Engine is used to manage users, billing (charging using direct carrier billing) and terminations (off-net model).
In case of a failed callback request, Fortumo’s Bundling Platform schedules new attempts at progressive intervals. The first request attempt will time out after 3 seconds, the second attempt after 10 seconds and the following attempts have a 30 second timeout.
Fortumo’s bundling platform makes a total of 10 callback attempts with the following intervals: 3 seconds, 10 seconds, 1 minute, 10 minutes, 100 minutes, 8 hours, 24 hours, 48 hours and 96 hours.
No, all callback URL-s need to use HTTPS.
Analytics for bundle deployments are provided to partners through Fortumo’s Analytics tool.
Both digital service providers and telcos can view analytics on the platform aggregated across all their bundle deployments and individually by each bundling partner. The data can also be viewed aggregated across all offers or by individual offers, if multiple bundle offers are launched with the same partner.
The analytics platform provides data on bundle activations (started and completed activations, activation success rate), cancellations (and cancellation reasons) and detailed analytics on the activation funnel (started, authenticated, entitled and completed activations, as well as failed activation reasons).
