We will schedule a new attempt and will keep trying with a progressive interval. Typically, the first request attempt will timeout after 3 seconds, next 2 attempts after 10 seconds and the rest of attempts have a timeout of 30 seconds.
There is a total of 10 attempts with the following intervals: 3 sec, 10 sec, 1 minute, 10 minutes, 100 minutes, 8 hours, 24 hours, 48 hours and 96 hours.
The telco needs to decide, based on available platforms and capabilities, if they want to manage users, billing (charging) and termination on their side (on-net) or have Fortumo manage it via Direct Carrier Billing (off-net).
Our recommendation is to use the on-net model if the telco is able to support Merchant’s subscription cycles and pricing (example, for new users - free trial intro period, x months discounted/promotional pricing, full monthly pricing).
Bundle deals can be set up through Fortumo’s Bundling Platform with mobile operators, ISP-s, TV providers, set-top box customers and other digital service providers.
